Russian Blue Kitten FAQ

We are a TICA-registered Russian Blue cattery in Old Bridge, New Jersey. We are a small home-based program and produce only a limited number of litters each year.

The Russian Blue is believed to have originated in northern Russia, especially the Arkhangelsk region. Historical records later placed the breed in England and Northern Europe, where it became known as the Archangel Cat.

Russian Blues are loyal, intelligent, affectionate, and playful. Many enjoy following their favorite person around the home, greeting family members at the door, and taking part in daily routines.

They are loving and social but can be reserved around strangers. Stable routines and gradual introductions help them feel secure. Many Russian Blues adapt well to homes with other pets when introductions are handled slowly.

Our original website lists testing for HCM, PKD, PK Deficiency, FIV, FeLV, and the color-point gene. Kittens also receive routine veterinary care, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and the records that accompany them to their new home.

Our kittens usually stay with us until they are at least 14 weeks old. A kitten may stay longer when extra time is needed for maturity, veterinary care, training, or preparation for the move.

The adoption package includes medical records, microchip information, core vaccination information, deworming, FeLV and FIV testing, spay or neuter information, registration papers, and helpful transition supplies such as food samples and toys.

Yes. A $400 adoption deposit is required after your application has been reviewed and your kitten has been confirmed for you. The kitten is not considered reserved until the deposit has been received and we confirm the reservation.

No. Please wait until we have reviewed your application, confirmed the kitten, and instructed you to proceed. This keeps the reservation process clear for both sides.

Yes. Our original site explains that we are happy to provide photos and videos so families can follow their kitten's progress while waiting for homecoming.

Our original feeding information includes high-quality kitten food along with carefully selected fresh foods such as cooked chicken, quail eggs, salmon, and bone broth. We recommend keeping the same routine at first and changing food gradually after the kitten settles in.

Yes. Tell us your location during the application. Pickup can be arranged, and delivery or transportation options can be discussed based on distance, timing, and the safest plan for the kitten.

Open the kitten's individual profile from the Available Kittens page and use the adoption form on that profile. The kitten's name is attached to the application automatically.

Prepare a quiet starter room with familiar food, fresh water, litter, a bed, a scratching surface, toys, and a safe hiding place. Choose a local veterinarian and plan any introductions to children or resident pets gradually.
